House Extension - Central Bury St Edmunds
This house is in the Queens Road Conservation Area where predominantly Victorian brick houses line the regular grid of streets.
Contrasting timber framed construction was used to create a two storey high volume housing a kitchen/dining room with a long window facing south towards the garden.
Oak rainscreen cladding externally contrasts sympathetically with the original brickwork.
Sustainable construction was used throughout, with timber framing and cladding, cellulose insulation, breathable paints. A solar collector has been fixed to the roof.
