Hunston
House extension

This extension has been added to a listed timber framed cottage. It illustrates how extensions can be contrasting in form, and use contemporary materials provided that the scale is appropriate.

A glazed core with a transparent staircase rises through one and a half floors from a half basement to an upper sleeping deck.  A partially covered deck 1.2m above ground level gives views across the open fields, and glazing placed to work with the building's internal spaces creates a light interior with views of the garden and the open countryside beyond.
